- - - - 1940's tipped Preston Strurges' Comedies that were satirical, and poked fun at sex, love, politics, war, the military, and death. These can be argued as the first examples of Dark Comedies.
        
        50's comedies were usually squeaky clean, witty, and light-hearted. They were very thought out and planned, but some sex comedies were made, using Marilyn Monroe as the main star.
        
        The 60's and 70' pushed Woody Allen's modest, satirical comedies set in the upper middle-class of New York.
        
        In the 80's and 90's, Rom-Coms became very popular and other divergent comedies, or comedies mashed with any genre you can think off. This was an experimental time for comedy as seen by no other.
  - - - Mack Sennett was known as the "Master of Slapstick Comedy" and built the Keystone company, which became the leading producer of slapstick comedy.
      - Key Silent Era clowns were Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Harry Langdon, Larry Semon, and Charlie Chaplin.
      - The first comedy film was made in 1895 titled "The sprinkler sprinkled" by the Lumiere brothers
    - - Verbal comedy brought in more complex parts, and for sound to help build the characters with staples like rusty voices, piano playing, and fast talking.
      - The setting can be in or outside and in social events, usually with high key lighting.

        The 80's and 90's progressed previous twists in the horror genre with new directors like Sean S. Cunningham (Friday the 13th), Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead), and Tim Burton.

        They framed their murders as suicides and made killing a game, which Veronica doesn't care too much about until the brief moment when she sees a victims family member distraught, and rethinks what she's done with Jason.
        
        Jason Dean came into Veronica's room and finds her hanging, and when he thinks she's dead he explains that he was coming up to kill her before he bombed the school the next day.
