Guidance and Standards
Equality Act 2010
This is a Standard. This brings many laws together that are linked to fairness. The Act makes sure all individuals are protected from discrimination. It includes race, disability, religion and beliefs.
UN Convention on Rights of the child
This is a Standard, these are rights that children are entitled to in order to participate and fulfil their potential. The Act applies to every child regardless of where they were born or who they are.
Health and Social care Act 2012
This Act is a guidance. This is for improving the choice of standards of care for service users.So the professionals work in a way to please the service user.
Early years Foundation stage
This is guidance. They need to meet high standards in childcare. Must be followed by settings as nurseries, child minders and schools that provide care for children from 0 to 5.
Human Rights Act 1998
A standard, that gives basic human rights to people and takes their complaints to court. All citizens provided with freedom and rights regardless of citizenship or nationality.
Nursing and Midwifery Council Code
A standard, the act covers standards of conduct performance and ethics for midwives and nurses. To treat people as individuals and respect dignity.
The Care and Quality Commission
A guidance, this regulates all care homes in England. Ensures the quality of care in hospitals ,dentists,ambulances and care homes. Also the care given in peoples own homes.
Code of Practice and Care
A guidance that sets standards of conduct expected from support workers and adult social care workers. Workers signed up to the code have outlined behaviours and attitudes. Voluntary but seen as the best practice.
Health Professional Council
A guidance, an organisation which regulates health, psychological and care professionals in the UK. They set standards, hold register,quality assure education and investigate complaints.
OFSTED
This is a guidance and office for standards in Education, Children's services and skills. They inspect and regulate services that for children and young people, and services providing education and skills for learners of all ages.
