Purposeful disclosure of significant personal information that wouldn’t normally be known by others.
Sharing information with others that they would not normally know or discover. Self-Disclosure involves risk and vulnerability on the part of the person sharing the information.

A way of gaining information about another person
You also come to feel better about yourself and your relationships when the other person accepts what you tell them.
- Other person will gain power in the relationships because of the information they posses.
- Too much self-disclosure or self-disclosure that come too early in a relationship can damage the relationship.
- Is that the person will not respond favorably to the information .
