Tense scores the are up-tempo for the action-filled portions of the film. Slower sadder songs to emphasize loneliness of a character left behind in the apocalyptic world.

The mise en scene of the apocalyptic films typically seems to be dusty or sandy. When filming we are also able to adjust camera angles to make the shot look darker and more rundown. Using rundown buildings can help set a few establishing shots for the film.

Fast pace tracking shots to capture chases and make the audience feel a part of the action, closeups to show emotion and establishing shots to show where the action is taking place
This film displays codes and conventions from both the action and apocalyptic sub-genres. The film uses sound effects such as guns, explosions, and drones. There are many scenes where tracking shots are used to capture the action of the two main characters. There are establishing shots used to show the scenery and the location where the action is taking place.
