Pulpal status
Reversible pulpitis

Symptoms: Pain to hot, cold, sweets, subsides quickly after eating
Def: A clinical dx based on subjective and objective findings that the inflammation should resolve and the pulp return to normal

Irreversible pulpitis

Symptomatic: Severe/ spontaneous/ radiating/ provoked pain (by cold or hot) that lingers/throbbing pain
Def: A clinical dx based on subjective and objective findings indicating that the vital inflamed pulp is incapable of healing

Pulp Necrosis:
From asymptomatic to constant, throbbing or severe pain
Discovered when vitality testing is done on suspected tooth w large caries/ inadequate and/or large coronal restoration
