BARNABAS AND PAUL MAKE DISCIPLES IN FARAWAY PLACES
Paul and Barnabas are remembered as an extraordinary example of zeal in the preaching of the kingdom of God.
Why did Jehovah God choose Paul and Barnabas?
Who was Barnabas?
Barnabas was a Levite.
The apostles surnamed him Barnabas, meaning “Son of Comfort.”
He was a native of the island of Cyprus.
Who was Paul?
He was a Roman citizen from birth.
Paul was versed at least in Greek and Hebrew.
Paul was born in Tarsus.
Why did Jehovah God choose Paul and Barnabas?
Paul and Barnabas were spiritual men, ready to act in favor of the message of the kingdom of God.
They were not chosen because, from the human point of view, they were educated people or because they came from a prestigious place.
We do know that the holy spirit directed the choosing of these men.
ACTS 13:2,3
For what kind of activity did Jehovah have God chosen Paul and Barnabas?
We can see in the image the frankness with which they speak.
The hypocrite is someone who does not reveal his emotions.
The Holy Spirit of God helped Paul and Barnabas speak with zeal and frankness.
They were not hypocrites.
ACTS 13:12
Certainly their task was to preach the message of the kingdom.
What reaction arouses their words and their way of presenting the good news?
Let us not forget that they were chosen by the Holy Spirit to carry out this task.
ACTS 13:48
So they act by showing that they want to do God's will by becoming believers.
Becoming believers meant making significant changes, particularly at the social level.
Understanding the value of the words of the two missionaries, those people rejoiced.
That is, if you were a soldier, you had to leave the army.
This happened when they spoke to non-Jews.
Accompanied by the Holy Spirit, the two missionaries also preached in the synagogue.
ACTS 14:1
Again, many believed and acted becoming believers.
Paul and Barnabas do not abandon the new members of their spiritual family.
They encouraged all of them to stay focused on the blessings of the kingdom of God.
ACTS 14:21,22
What do we learn from this series of events?
We must not hide our identity and our intentions when we preach.
We must continue to show interest and sincere love for the people with whom we share the message of the kingdom of God.
We must use our time and the abilities granted by the Holy Spirit to encourage one another.
Let us not be frightened by the distance we have to travel to reach a rightly disposed person.
The Holy Spirit of God will sustain us!
By continuing to participate in this work we have the opportunity to encourage us.
Meetings and meetings for field service are an excellent opportunity.
Like Paul and Barnabas, we have the privilege of preaching.
