Creating a Classroom Environment and Implementing Appropriate Strategies to Help all Students Succeed
Classroom Environment
Do empathy building activities with all students as it is their first time learning how to socialize with others. Have a "caring jar".
Create multi-sensory lessons as it is beneficial for many learning disabilities and great for 2-3 year olds to understand how they use their bodies and senses.
Have rapport with each student. Understand what types of environments they learn best in, their likes and dislikes, and keep notes on their behavioral, emotional, and cognitive development.
Create a mindful classroom. Aim to get students to be mindful of their behavior. Have a corner for them to go to if they need to calm down.

- Begin Differentiating instruction
During lessons create ability based groups. Gives time to help disabled learners grasp different skills.

If the strategies are not working. Set a meeting with a member of the Pastoral Team to discuss alternative strategies as well as discuss if a SEN representative is needed.
-
If there are improvements, continue with the plan, using specified strategies. Create open communication with family and discuss different activities that they can do at home to support their child.
- Request Additional Support
If strategies are not working. Then talk with the learning diversity team to request additional support and action.
When possible send activities home for parents to do with their children. Such as activities to build concentration, social skills, or independence.
