- Copious bleeding - does not clot
Can Progress To:
- Shock
- Acute Renal Failure
- Dyspnea & cyanosis (ARDS)
- Circulatory failure
- Coma, convulsions, death

(most related to malignancy)
Can Progress To:
- Trousseau syndrome (recurrent DVT)
- Non-bacterial thrombotic endocarditis
Thrombo-Hemorrhagic Disorder
- Consumptive coagulopathy
- Systemic activation of coagulation pathways lead to thrombi throughout microcirculation

Morphology:
- Microthrombi in arterioles & capillaries of kidneys, adrenals, brain, heart
- Kidney: wedge-shaped infarcts OR diffuse cortical necrosis
- Adrenal gland: bilateral hemorrhage & necrosis
- Waterhouse-Friderichsen Syndrome:
- Meningiococcemia
- Adrenal failure & death
