- - - - Pass the national licensing examination available through the Association of Marital and Therapy Regulation Boards (AMFTRB)

    - - 3000 hours of board-approved marriage and family therapy practice, 1500 hours of which must be direct clinical experience , of which 750 hours must be provided to couples and families; 200 hours board-approved supervision, of which at least 100 hours of individual supervision, no more than 100 hours being transferred from the graduate program, at least 50 hours of the post graduate supervision must be individual supervision, of the 200 hours, no more than 50 hours may be by telephonic or electric media, a minimum of 1 hour of supervision every 2 weeks

      - Pass the Texas Jurisprudence Exam
