The Flying Cat ( (
Audience : The audience is for the people afraid of losing someone close to them or that they care about. The end of the poem she talks about the pain she would feel to lose the cat. And feeling connected with her cat, then trusting you with their life only for her cat to feel fear but in the end she was able to let them go. ),
Occasion: The owner is concerned about her cat flying and going somewhere on an airplane. And over thinking what could happen. At dinner all that she could think about is her cat and then dreaming of it growing propellers. ,
Topic: Being worried and having a fear losing someone that you care deeply about, being able to let them go. ,
Purpose: Is to let others know that they are not alone of feeling so worried of losing someone or something. Also to share her experience with her cat. In the poem she is non-stop calling to make sure everything will be alright with many questions. " Hugging the cat before departure, you realize again the private language of pain." ,
Speaker: The owner of the cat is the speaker. We can tell by how protective she is when she's almost yelling at the person over the phone if her cat will freeze or not. "Never, in all your career of worrying, did you imagine what worries could occur concerning the flying cat." ,
Tone: Fear because she shows anxiety because she shows a lot of alarms being set off to think about letting her cat go by letting it affect everything she is doing. She thinks of every way possible of what can go wrong instead of thinking of a bright side for her cat. )
