Brainstorm of my argument
Desired Results
I would like for my readers to side with the liberal viewpoint of the need for reform in education and prompt a frustration in my readers regarding the current state of education funding.
Desired Feelings: Frustration, passion, confusion at the current state, motivation for change, confidence in the argument.
I want the audience to value the students and teachers above all else, including a restrictive budget.
REACTIONS
NOT PLAUSIBLE
PLAUSIBLE
- Enlighten those who didn't know anything about the topic
Sudden prostests in response to my argument in particular
Complete change in legislation immediately
I completely convince my opposition of my argument
- Strengthen the opinions and confidence of those already opposing the issue
- Motivate those who were on the fence about the issue to chose the stance that I'm arguing
- Discourage the opinion/argument of my opposition
Consequences of Plausible Reactions
- Continue to motivate the protests and arguments for better school funding
- Motivate more people to join the protests and opposition of the poor school funding of many districts.
- Broaden the strength of the argument by adding more people who are not biased and fresh to the issue to argue for change in favor of what I want
- Weaken the opposition that those who are taking action are facing so that they may break some ground in their protests and arguments.
Audience
I think that audience that will best move my argument and will be the most susceptible to my argument would have to be people who either know very little about the topic or know about it but are conflicted on their stance. That is because they do not have a concrete opinion, which is typically very difficult to change. They will add numbers to those opposing the arguments of those who don't think there needs to be change and offer a more unbiased, fresh opinion on the matter.
