Gulf War of 1991 and current war in Iraq- 2.5 million refugees and followed the Iraq's invasion of Kuwait. It dislocated the Kurdish people of Iraq. Soviet invasion of Afghanistan (1979-1989) and Taliban rule (1996-2001)- Afghanistan was caught in the soviet's last imperialist campaign and the soviet union invaded them for it. Islamic fundamental movement took over Afghanistan, the taliban created a countermigration. and Africa: Civil wars in Liberia(1989-2003) and sierra leone (1991-2002)- Civil Wars sent thousands of refugees into Guinea and Ivory Coast. Civil War in the country started and 5 million people were displaced and 1.6 million people fled. Different culture groups fought the UN couldn't resolve the problem .
